Thursday 13 Sept - Manali Trek Day 4

8:15 Start.

A very steep scramble up the head of the valley from base camp sees us in the fresh snow on Kali-Hani pass at 4640m by 11am.

Prem leads the way across the snow plateu, weaving between the crevasses, poking with his stick to ensure it's safe.

Once off the snow it's an afternoon of boulder hopping for several hours down the valley.

One pony over ballances and ends up in the freezing river. Unable to get her up Amichand and Bipin release her load and manage to get her out of the water.

It starts raining before we've found a suitable camp site.

By 3pm the tents are up. Everyone is very wet and very cold.
